Terms of Service

Last updated 20 September 2026

This is a draft.

It describes how Wishly works today and is under legal review. Two things a finished document needs are deliberately not here yet — the limitation of liability and the governing law — because guessing at them would be worse than leaving them out.

The agreement

These terms cover your use of Wishly. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Wishly.

Your account

You need an account to use most of Wishly. You sign in with your email address, or with Google. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. An account is for one person.

The sign-in codes we email you are how we know it is you. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you, so keep access to your inbox safe.

What you put on Wishly

Your content stays yours — your wishes, your pictures, your words. You give us the permission we need to run the service with it: to store it, and to show it to the people you have chosen to show it to.

Only post what you have the right to post. We do not review what people post before it appears; if something on Wishly breaks these terms, tell us.

How to behave

Do not use Wishly to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it
  • harass, threaten or impersonate anyone
  • post content that is hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise plainly out of place on a gift list
  • collect other people's information in bulk, scrape the service, or automate access to it
  • probe, overload or interfere with the service, or try to reach parts of it that are not yours

Who can see your list

You choose whether your profile is public or visible only to the people who follow you. Either way, treat your wishlist as something other people will read — a wish is meant to be seen.

Wishly also shows profile owners how many people have visited, and shows the names to owners with Premium. If you would rather look at someone's profile without appearing there, Premium includes anonymous browsing. The Privacy Policy describes this in full.

Buying and gifting

Payment happens on the payment provider's page; we never see your card details. Some things are delivered by partners rather than by us, and they receive what they need to deliver — nothing more.

If a payment fails, no order is placed and you are not charged. If you were charged but the order did not complete, tell us and we will sort it out with the payment provider.

Marking someone else's wish as reserved or bought is a courtesy to other buyers, not a promise to anyone. We do not hold anything for you.

Premium

Premium is bought through the shop like anything else, for a fixed period. It does not renew automatically — when it runs out, the account simply returns to the free features.

The service itself

We change Wishly as we go: features arrive, and occasionally features leave. We sometimes take it down for maintenance, and it will sometimes be down when we did not plan it.

We do not promise that Wishly is always available, or that nothing will ever be lost. Keep anything you cannot bear to lose somewhere else as well.

Ending it

You can deactivate your account at any time and sign back in to restore it, or delete it permanently.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Deleting your account does not undo orders already placed or payments already made.

Changes to these terms

If we change something that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Wishly afterwards, that is your acceptance. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
